Chili Dog Pizza
Not as crazy as it sounds.

Honestly, I'm surprised it's taken me this long to put hot dogs on pizza.
It's been on my idea list for a long time, but my first thought was to do the classic hot dog toppings. Ketchup would be the base sauce, and mustard and pickles would be added after cooking. But then I was reminded of chili dogs, and that sounded even better.
First, I spread a layer of chili with no beans on the dough, then I sprinkled on a mix of mozzarella and cheddar. I really wanted to make sure the hot dogs were charred like on a grill. So, I seared one side of the slices in a pan first, then placed them on the pizza with the untouched side facing up to finish cooking in the oven.

Once the hot dogs had some nice color on them and the cheese was starting to brown, I pulled the pizza. The finishing touches were a drizzle of yellow mustard and some diced white onion. That's all I want on a chili dog.
Most of these "what if [food] but pizza?" ideas require more imagination, but this one was essentially the exact same things you'd put on a chili dog—just on a pizza. To the surprise of no one, it was pretty good. I will probably never make Chili Dog Pizza again, but it does work.
